Recycling our packaging and printer cartridges
As a company we are aware that we use a lot of plastic. We are also aware of the need to use less and recycle as much as possible. So far we have not been able to find a degradable substitute for our griplock plastic bags used for tiles and small bags of grout; but we want to emphasize that they can be recycled with plastic carrier bags at most supermarkets. Since we began our business we have always reused or recycled packing materials from incoming goods and we ask that you do the same. Our orange plastic mailing bags and bubblewrap can be recycled at most supermarkets and you can check your local authorities website to see what can be included in recycling bin collections. We do not believe that the waxy paper used to separate sheets of tiles can be recycled. We sometimes reuse sheets of spongy material that come to us with tiles and our research on this indicates it cannot be recycled at present.
We hope that packaging that is not recyclable will eventually be discontinued in favour of recyclable materials at affordable prices but in the meantime you may be able to use some plastic waste to make ecobricks
We obtain our ink and toner cartridges for printers from a supplier who takes back empty cartridges for recycling and we suggest that you find a supplier who will do the same.
