Can anyone believe is September already? I can’t!
The feature picture is of our latest addition, the Pumpkin Pair mosaic kit, available separately or together, these are available on our website now and would make great addition to your Halloween decorations. They are made from sturdy 12mm MDF, they are 3D and stand alone. The design is done in rich autumn colours, mixed oranges and terracotta with the addition of orange mirror glass to enhance the colour scheme. Peter is 20cm tall and Penelope (yes ok I named them lol) is 15cm tall. The design is a guide but there is the ability to design the piece how you want it, do the face differently etc. Not for small children though as a lot of cutting. It is an intermediate kit for older children and adults.
We have more kits coming in the New Year (Martin Cheek has been busy!)
Its been a busy summer and BAMM had their annual exhibition at Corinium Museum in Cirencester. As we live in the Midlands and John is on the committee it sort of fell to him to arrange. We had over 50 pieces of outstanding quality and it was a great experience when we all got to together to hang them, We were so grateful for the artists present who could really see how the pieces should be grouped. Also several people gave their time on weekends to man the exhibition and do mosaic demonstrations. I think a prize should go to Paul Lebbern who came from Southampton to help out one weekend! We left a visitors book in the exhibition room and we got lots of nice compliments. it would be hard to choose which were the best but I think I would have to say that Tamara Froud’s Spiral Evolution and Ivan Djidjev’s Saviour stood out.
Coming up in October is the BAMM forum in London and we are back at KIng’s College Waterloo Campus. We have had the Forum there before and it is a great venue. This year it is the 8th and 9th with some interesting sounding workshops on the Sunday. Forum tickets this year are from Eventbrite. Workshop tickets are from our website, here is the URL: http://www.mosaicsupplies.co.uk/bamm/bamm_forum.htm
We will be at the Forum with goodies to sell, this year we will have Litovi, a new product that most of you will have heard of. It is a stone product developed by Veronique Juan of Mosaistreet. We will have a selection of colours and some pieces that can be used for cutting. We purposely got the 1cm thickness as we know that not all of our clients have a hammer and hardie and therefore these pieces and 6cm 6cmx1cm can be cut with nippers. we would like to hear back from those who have purchased it as to how they got on with using the product in their mosaics.
We had a summer mosaic competition which was won by Adriana Zoon with her gorgeous mosaic ‘Mediterranean Sunset’ All of the entries are in an album on our Facebook page
All comments are welcome, all of our products are available on our website www.mosaicsupplies.co.uk
